Healthful Cooking

Participants will learn the joy of food preparation and make choices based on their bodies needs and also satisfy the craving of their palates. Emphasis is place on the social aspects of eating with others, eating seasonally, preparing nutritious foods and trying new foods.

  • Learning how to use a convection oven to prepare
  • Plating food
  • Cleaning when finished
  • Learning about healthy foods
  • How to engage socially when dining with others
  • Look at recipes, cooking shows, etc. on internet pertaining to the lesson plan
  • Work individually or in groups on artistic and games activities that help participants learn about food, cooking, and nutrition
