Ability Now Participants Enjoy the Great Outdoors

It’s been a busy summer for our participants, and for some, it continues into the Fall. Ability Now’s participant Oscar Matias spent the last two months enjoying the great State parks that California has to offer. As part of their recreational program for individuals with disabilities, BORP (Bay Area Recreational Program) took a group to Yosemite over the Labor Day weekend.  Oscar spent the weekend riding an adaptive bike in the Tuolumne Meadows and participated in some very creative rock climbing.

A few weekends later, Oscar joined a group of other bicyclist at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park. He participated in the annual bike ride that is put on every September, and had been training for the race over the last few months. Although Oscar didn’t win the race, he gave it his best shot, and we wouldn’t expect anything less from one of our Ability Now participants!

Ability Now Bay Area is now accepting new participants to join our learning community!
